2020 INTERNATIONAL ONLINE SEMINAR The third annual martial arts seminar will be 8th of November, 2020. This year’s topic: Sanchin and Tensho. It will focus on the essence of Sanchin kata, its philosophy and practical application in combat. There will be training sessions that discuss the whole process of performing Sanchin: from relaxation, breathing and concentration to endurance exercises (Hika), proper body tension, posture and escaping from your opponent’s pressure. This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced practitioners interested in making the most out of their training.
For the first time, our International Online Seminar, hosted by Hanshi Tetsuhiro Hokama, is open to everyone! All attendees will get access to “Sanchin and Tensho”, a 2-hour brand new seminar recorded by Hanshi Hokama himself. The recording will only be available for a limited time.
Sanchin & Tensho Seminar plus
The fundamental principles of empty-hand combat are found in Sanchin and Tensho. These two katas are the foundation for the rest of our curriculum. In this seminar, we will learn the origins and techniques of these two critical katas.
Join us for a two day per week course exploring the following themes in the kata: – Time and Space of the techniques – Analysis of techniques sequences – Influence of the breathing on technique’s effectiveness and their flawless execution – Exploration of linear and circular movements (Gokui no Kata) – Comparison with other fighting systems
Tensho and Sanchin are the two most important kata in Karate and Kobudo. These kata are not simply for show, or for practicing techniques, but contain powerful secrets to guide a practitioner towards the ultimate goal of self-realisation. Taught by a renowned Hokama sensei.
